Mondrian... Insight into the Artist's Subconscious

Image
Finding Logic...Gesso Charcoal Pastels on Paper 32" x 40"    2018 Piet Mondrian entered my life during one my Art School Drawing classes. I was having difficulty connecting with the mannequin still life until my professor suggested a Mondrian projection.  The animated energy subconsciously came out of me, it even made it into the Spring Show Exhibition. Yet...I struggled to orally describe what I had drawn .  My conscious mind was hopelessly silent about this piece until I stumbled upon this Mondrian tree drawing on a friend's Facebook page. There was something about this animated tree that spoke to me.  The Melancholic Blue, Sanguine Red and Choleric Yellow are depicted in a rhythmic array of mental activity.  There are hints of squares & rectangles in the instinctual area taking form for his later work.  Mondrian's  trees were created during his earlier years before his work evolved to the aerated focused lines, geometric squares & rectangles. What was it ab

Found Ithaka...

As you set out for Ithaka hope your road is a long one,           full of adventure, full of discovery.     — Constantine Cavafy                       A kind soul from the past reached out to me. I only met him once, but he remembered my passionate nature from ten years ago. What was it about me that stuck in his mind?  I’ve been known to be too much for people at times… & it has gotten me into disquieting predicaments. It was at his Workshop for American Society of Professional Graphologist’s in New York City that I was exposed to this invaluable yet haunting tool for assessing character and personality.   I  was excited to learn about his work equating Graphology with the Enneagram.   The Enneagram solved a hindering issue I had in my Graphology practice.  It resolved what to do for my clients to help them get unstuck.  To offer them a Guiding Orientation of what to do that would benefit them. This was my conscious mind speaking.  What was going on in my subconsciou

This is a subconscious piece of an intimate friend.  A calming energy throughout my life. I tried to draw her animated and smiling... A congenial personality  Voted the 'Friendliest' in high school. But this is what came out of me. Her handwriting revealed a Phlegmatic character of the Hippocratic Temperaments. Calm, stable, consistent and wise... Loyal in feeling... Traditional in habits. Comfortable with routine and instruments of precision.                                                   The Enneagram Type 9 seemed to fit for her. She agreed.

Don't Fear Medusa...

Don’t Fear Medusa…          Don't be afraid to look at Medusa. You won't turn to stone. The irony here is that if you Fail to look at Medusa... You WILL turn to stone. This is a quote from my book,  Coffee with the Subconscious , that I wrote over ten years ago. It's currently haunting my soul because people are turning to stone all around me.  When I communicate to people that I'm a graphologist their quick thought is that they're afraid to have me look at their handwriting. They're afraid of criticism.  The ones who are initially afraid shouldn't be. They are usually the more    intelligent. They suffer from those who have positions   of power over them.  They are the victims of Medusa's propaganda. Medusa's secrets. Medusa's invisible restrictions piercing their soul. False Promise after False Promise after False Promise. Façade after Façade after Façade.  Competent people are too aware of what they don't know and

Enneagram Energy Points...

When I first came to the Enneagram I was looking for a solution to a problem... My formal training as a Graphologist was to analyze people's character and personality through their handwriting to develop their individual portrait.  When the handwriting sample had good equilibrium and an energized force, it was a productive and easy delivery. However... When I received a conformist, stuck handwriting I didn't know how to get them out of their shell to be themselves.  These static portraits were difficult for me to deliver... I was unable to tell them something that would benefit them. There was also a comment I heard at a British Academy of Graphology Workshop that kept ruminating in my head... 'She's not living in her Jungian Dominant function.' I was able to see in the handwriting sample what the instructor was talking about... But she was unable to offer a solution to arouse the writer's psychic energy to return them to their more natural flow. O

Life is About Relationships...

Are you in a relationship or trying to find one? Do you feel unsettled… Anxious… Not sure what to do or how to think? Hi… I’m Betty Rozakis… Learning Graphology, the study of character and personality through handwriting, helped me sustain a happy marriage for over 36 years.   It also facilitated my relationship as a daughter, mother, friend and employer. If you’re seeking a healthy relationship… It’s important to look at your self first. The hardest thing is to see our selves objectively. We unconsciously use our defense mechanisms unaware that they’re stifling and hurting us.   Our minds get stuck somewhere because of the external influences that have penetrated our lives. What’s going on with you? Are you using your positive strengths or are you stuck in your weaknesses? Did life get you off track and you don’t know how to return to your better self? Let’s examine your handwriting to assess your energy… Is it stuck, off balance or are you i

Victim of Namaste

Second Divorce was in a lot of pain. Her migraine headaches wouldn't go away. It was almost two years. Why did her husband leave so suddenly? Why the brutal sudden divorce? The evidence was in her handwriting and in his. His signing salutation was "Namaste". According to "Google".....Namaste means "bow me you" or "I bow to you." It's a deep form of respect. In its purest sense it is a deep understanding of truth from the heart of two souls. He knew how to mess with her head. His writing was a harsh purposeful writing that was artful in concealing the truth about his motives. He was adept in giving a false appearance. Such a charmer.....a "wolf in sheep's clothing". Her pliable letter formations wanted to avoid conflict. She did everything she could to please him. She felt responsible for the divorce. Her head throbbed....full of guilt. He knew how to take advantage of her kind naive goodness..... An
