To Grey Or Not To Grey....

I Love browsing the Art section of the Bookstore.
It was the Photography section...
A book depicting women..
Beautiful women of all ages sharing what they learned...

A particular quote resonated with me for several years....
Several women quoted in similar ways...
It wouldn't go away....
They wished they would have done it sooner....
Let their hair go to its natural state....
No more color.

I decided to give it a try...
Could I wear Grey well?

I didn't see what my loved ones saw...
They Approached me with kindness...
Some confronted me with the Truth....
Others seized the opportunity to Lie.

Looking at myself in the mirror...
Was I Ignorant or In Denial?
I sought feedback...
I wanted to understand...

My warm skin tones...
Look Horrible in Grey.
Cool skin tones wear grey well.

No More Grey for Me!

Mondrian... Insight into the Artist's Subconscious

Finding Logic...Gesso Charcoal Pastels on Paper 32" x 40"    2018 Piet Mondrian entered my life during one my Art School Drawing classes. I was having difficulty connecting with the mannequin still life until my professor suggested a Mondrian projection.  The animated energy subconsciously came out of me, it even made it into the Spring Show Exhibition. Yet...I struggled to orally describe what I had drawn .  My conscious mind was hopelessly silent about this piece until I stumbled upon this Mondrian tree drawing on a friend's Facebook page. There was something about this animated tree that spoke to me.  The Melancholic Blue, Sanguine Red and Choleric Yellow are depicted in a rhythmic array of mental activity.  There are hints of squares & rectangles in the instinctual area taking form for his later work.  Mondrian's  trees were created during his earlier years before his work evolved to the aerated focused lines, geometric squares & rectangles. It was only a year ago... Her leading kindness permeated the room... Her silent yet soulful composure Tried to hold steadfast to control her tears for another's pain. A few weeks ago Michele Peace handed over her helm of WIN to another. It was a subtle thoughtful step away. Blessed with a Grace for Listening... She brought solace and encouragement to my soul. I don't know the reason for Michele's sudden death... Why this calming spirit was suddenly thrust from her sons, husband, family and many friends. Michele's Radiant Kindness lives on...
