A Blessing In Disguise

I noticed two men at the front of my property line...
They stood facing my front window...
Comfortably discussing...
I never saw them before....
I felt the tension erupt inside my body...

I KNEW that something was amiss.....
They smiled and waved.... then drove away
They were up to something.....

On Saturday the letter arrived.
A recent survey determined that the outer most part of our yard didn't belong to us...

I felt violated.
This MUST be a mistake.
That's not what we were told when we bought the property!
Then I heard a beep....
A text from my husband...
We'll confirm their findings.....
But it's not so bad to have help maintaining the front area...
They'll probably do a nice job.

SO...where was the problem?
Free landscaping help to alleviate an arduous burden.
More time to create and enjoy my life.
A blessing in disguise.

Mondrian... Insight into the Artist's Subconscious

Finding Logic...Gesso Charcoal Pastels on Paper 32" x 40"    2018 Piet Mondrian entered my life during one my Art School Drawing classes. I was having difficulty connecting with the mannequin still life until my professor suggested a Mondrian projection.  The animated energy subconsciously came out of me, it even made it into the Spring Show Exhibition. Yet...I struggled to orally describe what I had drawn .  My conscious mind was hopelessly silent about this piece until I stumbled upon this Mondrian tree drawing on a friend's Facebook page. It was only a year ago... Her leading kindness permeated the room... Her silent yet soulful composure Tried to hold steadfast to control her tears for another's pain. A few weeks ago Michele Peace handed over her helm of WIN to another. It was a subtle thoughtful step away. Blessed with a Grace for Listening... She brought solace and encouragement to my soul.
