Art for Truths Sake NOT Public Consumption

The integrity of Art is not for sale...
OR, going along with whatever is tweeted.

I recently witnessed and participated in a couple of writers commenting ....
They referenced the ICON Ernest Hemingway.
Apparently, Ernest Hemingway wasn't comfortable with his first drafts.
These budding young authors referenced this "master" when...
They arduously became disillusioned with "first drafts" of writing...
Falling VERY short of their "purist" expectations.

Hemingway apparently was candid about having to subject himself to several "drafts" to arrive to HIS truth.
When I questioned the VALIDITY of this concept....
That first drafts were not ALWAYS "shit" as Hemingway proclaimed...
But rather a problem when too much thinking to cover up the truth was exercised.
One of the tweeters.....an acclaimed author....renneged on her initial response... RT.
But she kept her response "narrow".
She @ me stating that she did her "best" writing on initial drafts...
Then, WHY in God's sake, did she agree with her "followers" when they referenced Ernest Hemingway's personal issue when he wrote first drafts? That it took at least 5 revisions to arrive at the "truth" of his purpose in writing?

I don't understand.
This "budding" author reminds me of Bill Clinton.
Taking a "poll" is more pertinent than personal integrity.
A certain character needs to be mindful of authenticity...
Especially if they want to be a viable force in the literary arena!
